scattermum: A mum of two, my favourite things (other than my kids) are cooking, Kimchi, Tulips and Mr Clean Magic Eraser sponges. I dislike margarine, battery chicken and coat hangers from the dry cleaner. As a teenager what I really wanted to do was become a chef, however, I didn't want to miss out on the fun of going to Uni like all my friends and so instead went the traditional route. One somewhat lacklustre academic career later here I am...this blog is an expression of my culinary daydreams and a snippet from my daily life that is domestic chaos. I learnt to cook from my Mum (the original scatter mum!) and my maternal grandmother, neither of whom were great ones for measurements but rather followers of the "whats in the fridge/cupboard and needs using" school of cookery. Hence, you may find that in original recipes the measurements provided are somewhat subject to interpretation! I will try to provide a link to any recipes I have taken from cookery books or other sites, if there is no reference then they are my own recipes and linked only to my head!
